Dr. Sherman has been practicing at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla since 1994 and has been Board Certified in Surgery since 1995. He is the current Chief of Staff-Elect at Scripps Hospital where he will be Chief of Staff 2018-2019. He has an extensive practice in Cancer, Endocrine and Laparoscopic/Robotic Surgery.
In the past years, he has served as the Chairman of Surgery, Chairman of Continuing Medical Education, and as the Director of the Scripps Polster Breast Care Center. He has served as President of the Board of Directors of the XiMED Medical Group, and he continues to serve on the XiMED Hospitalists Board of Directors. He received a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction from Stanford University in 1985. In 1989, he received his medical degree from the University of California San Diego and completed his residency training as Chief Resident in General Surgery at UCSD Medical Center in 1994.
