Dr. Tuan Mai received his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He completed residency in internal medicine and was a chief resident at Scripps Mercy Hospital. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in cardiology, then subspecialized in cardiac electrophysiology at Oregon Health and Science University.
His focus is in the care of patients with heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmia’s) via non-invasive and invasive therapies. This includes the treating slow heart rhythms through implantation of pacemakers, treating heart failure and risk of sudden cardiac death through implantation of defibrillators, and alleviating symptoms and curing certain arrhythmia’s through catheter ablation. He believes in collaborative decision-making with his patients. After listening to his patients’ views, he will provide the latest evidence, and then discuss the risks and benefits of treatment options to come up with the best course of action together.
